Monica engaged after 4 months of dating. How soon is too soon?

The news hit the media yesterday the R & B songbird, Monica, recently received a 10 karat engagement ring from her NBA Basketball Boo! They have only been dating 4 months. How soon is too soon to meet someone, get engaged and get married? I am just asking. Do you think Shannon (her beau's name) is a rebound love, due to the fact she had just come out of a very long relationship with Rocko (the father of her 2 children)? She was actually the topic of discussion today on V103 (Atlanta radio station) and the host Frank Ski said, "Sometimes when you meet your soulmate, you just know!"

So does that mean, Monica and Shannon are soulmates? Just asking. Experts say that you should at least date a person a year because for the first year most people are on their best behavior and then the real them starts to emerge. But but but it's a hard thing to do when people date for years, get married and still get divorced. So I guess, it's like - "We know we love each other and want to spend the rest of our lives together."

I pray it works out for the best and that its the best decision for her. One thing I do not like (not about Monica) about celebrities is how some treat marriage like dating. Married today, divorced tomorrow. Celebrities don't appear to try to work it out as much as the common folk (don't get offended, just a jokey joke) do. Maybe because they have money and its easier to walk away, I am not sure. But marriage is serious business and shouldn't be entered into lightly nor should you walk away from it so easily. Just my thoughts. What are yours?
Why Isnt Forever Easy

I am happy that Monica and Shannon are engaged. Even though it happened after 4 months of dating, it doesn't mean that they'll elope tomorrow. Perhaps they will have a long engagement, go to counseling before taking that trip down the aisle.

Yes there are a lot of celebrities that marry today and dump each other tomorrow. Yet, what were their intentions going into the relationship in the first place? We the public may never know. Divorce happens in the mind first before the paperwork is drawn up.

Forever is a state of mind; there are married people still doing till death do us part because they are committed to each other and the marriage. Forever is not easy if you believe it to be. Sure, couples may not see eye to eye on everything, yet by embracing each other's differences, loving and appreciating each other, then the challenges that may come won't be treated like something to run from.

I think when you know you know. You can be in a relationship for years with the wrong person. My hubby and I were engaged after only 3 months and have now been married for 11 years. I have friends that dated their husband for years and still got divorced. Sometimes the connection is just that strong.

This is a toughie?? Why?? Because it is hard to say?? Some ppl rush into things and Most often times it doesn't work out. BUT there are those RARE 'love at first sight' or 'I knew from the moment I met him/her it would be forever' and it works. I would say personally air on the side of caution. It is so often ppl rush into all types of relationships thinking they 'know' someone and turns out they do NOT know the person by a long shot! I know I met my hubby at school and our relationship developed very quickly, however, WE did NOT get married until we had been together for 3years. But I know a couple who moved in after dating for 3months and still together a year later. So you never know.

I do not believe it is to soon. He that findeth a wife finds a good thing. He may have been looking for a long time... his search is over. He chose her and she said yes.... what more can be said.
