Hello ladies,
So many times as married ladies, we help support our husbands dreams and vision - in addition to supporting our kids. I am not saying anything is wrong with that because I do it too BUT I have dreams as well. I had dreams before I had a husband and before I had kids. Sometimes it seems what I didn't accomplish before I got married either has to be put on the back burner or may not be accomplished! When you get married SOMETIMES you have to change, compromise and/or sacrifice what YOU really want to do for the benefit of the family. BUT WHAT IF?
What if money wasn't an issue and you didn't have to work? What if you woke up after you finished sleeping? Meaning you didn't have to worry about an alarm clock going off to go punch a clock. You work when and if you wanted to. What if time wasn't an issue? Meaning the excuse of "I don't have time to follow a dream!" wasn't an option because all you have is time. WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
What would you be doing if your dream came true? What would you do for free? And my follow up question is WHY AREN'T YOU DOING IT NOW? For me, I would host a talk show for free. It doesn't have to be a sit down interview show like Oprah. But it could be a travel show, where I am telling people about different places, or more of a show like The View - where we talk about the HOT TOPICS and have other segments. And the reason I would do it for free b/c it's not about me just being on TV but it's about helping people with things they never knew or don't understand. Similar to this blog, which wasn't created for you to read about my life only, but for WIFES to comment and help other married women who can't or won't talk to anyone else. I have a feeling my dream is going to come true. What about you?
*That's not my only dream, I have soooo many but that is a big one. I want to hear from you!
Chime in.

Like you, I have many dreams; some of which I accomplished before and during marriage. Most of my career oriented dreams have been placed on the back burner partly because of my own neglect as well as following my husband to help him conquer his own dreams. Much of my marriage has revolved around being led by my husbands aspirations. For a very brief moment in the recent past I took time to think about me and me alone, and nothing worked the way they should have. I have learned that as a wife and a mother my personal health; both mental and physical are number one; if that is intact everyone will be well. My duties as a wife are as follows: nurture, encourage, love and provide. All must be done for everyone in the family including me. Most women are able to pull it all together and "Gas" her husbands head even when you feel that he might be dreaming. Let him dream. While he is dreaming keep a journal on what you aspire to do. While you are being the foundation for your husbands success do things that will allow you to one day weave your own dreams into fruition. For some women now might be the right time to follow your dreams. If you have the opportunity to stay home while your husband works prepare dinner after everyone leaves and take the rest of the day to plan your lives. You don't have to let him know what your plans are until you actually have a game plan and don't forget to include him. I've learned to always incorporate my dreams into those of the goals of our family. All men feel good when he feels that he accomplished something and his wife is there to kiss and encourage him, but very few men feel comfortable with an ambitious wife. All that being said make him feel like a king. Cook the meals, carry the slippers massage him when you don't feel like it all while following your goals for the "betterment of the family". Don't forget to do you, whatever that might be.
That was a very inspiring comment! I am for real. It even made me think about things I try to do that don't include him or may not have his blessing on. What's up with the MALE EGO? That might need to be a topic all in itself LOL!!
Great comment!
The WIFE
Okay, Loving this btw! Anywho, I am the "chick" to speak on this! This honestly should be a sister circle topic, seriously! My dreams....are like "A Rasin In The Sun"! Dried up and festering like a dead carcaus in the Saharan Dessert-lol! Okay, kind of kidding but honestly, all the things I have written down on my 10 or so notepads (cause everytime and idea or a dream comes to me, I grab whatever and write it down) are honestly like festering soar. I see them everyday but cant do anything with them because my life now, consists of husband and kids and everything else between and after them then....my dreams. But honestly by the time I'm ready and able to jump on them and see what I can do with em', I'm asleep, gone! I love my family (TO LIFE, let's be clear!) but sometimes I think what it would be like to be owning and running my own sh"ish". I want that so bad I can taste it but it's just not a priority in my "physical" life right now although it is as big as it wants to be in my "SPIRITUAL AND MENTAL" one!
The hubby works 20-hr days and the kids work "on me" about another 10-12, so that's where I am right now. Although I am being "content", well, kind of, in the place that God has placed me for I know that he knows what's truly down on the inside of me but I've realized that I must keep working, keep perservering and KEEP ON DREAMING and "it too shall come to pass"!!!!
Love you to pieces B' for this blog, Wheeew', I feel 'SO MUCH BETTER'-Lolol!
Be Blessed All!
April,
I feel feel feel you. You have so many things you want to do, but sometimes you feel guilty because of the children and even hubby need time and attention. I joke with my husband sometimes and say, "Shoot, I need a wife to take care of me!" We have to take care of them and ourselves. I look up to the women who make it happen though. I really do.
Let's go for it April. With God's help!
Love ya too!

I AM FULFILLING MY DREAM BY RETURNING TO COLLEGE SINCE THE ECONOMY IS SO BAD. I THOUGHT IT WAS THE PERFECT OPPPORTUNITY TO GET MY DEGREE AND I AM HAPPY TO DO IT. I FIND IT THE MOST REWARDING AND CHALLENGING EXPERIENCE SO FAR. I AM INSPIRING OTHER WOMEN TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL AND LADIES, IT IS WORKING.....WE NEED TO EMPOWER ONE ANOTHER THROUGH THE BEST AND WORST OF TIMES.....
WISHING YOU ALL MY AMAZING LOVE, SINCERE PEACE AND LONG-LASTING HAPPINESS......
That is awesome Lady G! What are you going back to school for and what do you hope to do with your degree?
I WOULD LIKE TO GET MY ASSOCIATES, BACHELORS AND PH.D IN PSYCHOLOGY. MY PRIMARY GOAL IS TO HELP WOMEN WHO ARE USED, ABUSED AND EXPLOITED BY MEN. WHETHER THROUGH A TROUBLED MARRIAGE OR AN ABUSIVE BOYFRIEND, WE MUST RISE UP AND EMPOWER OURSELVES WITH OR WITHOUT THEM.
